Who are the SRA-ANZ?

SRA-ANZ is the registry of a collective of Self-Representing Artists who use Glass as their main media, working in Australia and New Zealand. Our logo is your assurance that you are supporting an Australian or New Zealand Glass Artist, and not a reseller of mass-produced product from any where else in the world.

Self-Representing Artists take pride in their work and have spent considerable time learning and perfecting our craft. We create in our private studios, stake our personal reputation on the quality of our work, and constantly strive to provide you with unique and innovative designs. Our Beads are properly Kiln annealed for strength, stability and resilience.

We encourage you to explore this website and the Artists listed herein. Click to visit our individual websites and auctions, see our studios, learn a little about us and our Art!

Mission Statement

One of our greatest challenges is finding equitable ways to bring our Art to the marketplace, to the people who wish to own it. Educating the buying public in the finer points of quality and uniqueness of our work, so they can appreciate more fully it's intrinsic, aesthetic and timeless value.

We are a group of glass artists who are dedicated to the art of lampworking. It's an ancient art form that flourished in Italy in the 1300s and then spread throughout Europe, the Americas and the rest of the world.

We work at home in our own studios, making beads, marbles or other glass objects one at a time. Patiently and carefully we strive for perfection in every object that we make. We are from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Israel, Germany... all over the world!

As self-representing artists, one of our greatest challenges is finding ways to bring our art before the people who want to own it, and educating those buyers about the uniqueness and quality of our work. We hope that this directory will help you to discover us and learn a little a bit more about our process, our studios, and our personalities; and, of course, our art!

I bought a copy of Marilyn Peraza's dvd at Chockadoo on Tuesday 17 April, 2007. I watched it once when I got home and I made my very first set of dark red roses with rosebuds. I was ecstatic with the results so I e-mailed her the next day via the Bead Artist website. Alas, she replied to me straight away and asked if she could use my testimony on her website. I'm so honoured.

I highly recommended Marilyn's dvd because despite of me having basic equipment, I was able to make a set of perfect roses just in time for Mothers' day. Marilyn U R a great teacher. Keep up the excellent work!

Marilyn happens to be the founder of The Annealer Magazine and I didn't know about this until checkout when I subscribed to the magazine.
